Deadly attack on Shia procession and Hussayniah in Pakistan

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Rawalpindi: Takfiris Attack Ashura Procession to Damage Exemplary Unity of Shia-Sunni-Muslims

Takfiri militants have attacked a religious gathering in the Pakistani city of Rawalpindi, which at least eight people killed and several others injured, security sources say.

The violence broke out as Shia Muslim mourners massed to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon Him), grandson of Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

Local security officials say the procession coincided with a sermon in a nearby mosque controlled by a Sunni extremist group.

As the Ashura procession was passing through the Raja Bazaar area, a notorious cleric from Ghulam Ullaah Mosque began hate speech on loud speaker in which he insulted Imam Ali and his son Imam Hussain and praised the cursed Yazid by using the words of Radi Allaah Ta'ala Anh. [Shia and Sunni Muslims use these prayers for the revered companions of Prophet PBUH but Takfiris have lately begun to use this term for Yazid and other followers of Satan too.]

The hate speaker aroused other takfiris to raise slogans calling Shia Muslims and Other Sunni Muslims who were part of Azadari (mourning) as infidels. [kafir]

The exact cause of the clash could not be immediately determined. But media reports say it began after someone fired at the Shia procession.

A curfew has been imposed after army soldiers were called in to control the situation.

Shia Muslims in Pakistan say the government must take decisive action against the forces involved in the targeted killings. They also accuse Islamabad of failing to provide security for the Muslim community.

The country’s Shia leaders have called on the government to form a judicial commission to investigate the bloodshed.

The killing of Shias has caused an international outrage, with rights groups and regional countries expressing concern over the ongoing deadly violence.

Takfiri organizations bent upon damaging the unity of Shia and Sunni Muslims under a well thought out plan, surrounded another Hussayniyah Faiz-ul-Hasan in Chishtian and burnt down it, many believers are feared to have been gutted in fire.

One seriously injured Shia man has been shifted to Bahawalpur Hospital. Shia and Sunni Muslim scholars in particular and masses in general are requested to display exemplary wisdom, discipline and conscientiousness to thwart the strategy of Takfiri stooges of global arrogance to damage the Shia-Sunni unity.
